The General Standard for Food Additives (GSFA, Codex STAN 192-1995) establishes the conditions under which food additives can be used in all food products, regardless of whether there is a specific Codex standard for that particular food product or not.

This document contains provisions on food additives that have been adopted by the Codex Alimentarius Commission.

The General Standard for Food Additives is currently under development, and the information is periodically updated to include additional provisions on food additives adopted by the Codex Alimentarius Commission.
