Food additive E105 (Yellow Fast AB) is a synthetic yellow dye. The molecular formula for E105 is C12H11N3O6S2. This dye belongs to the group of azo dyes, which are based on nitrogen compounds.
Effects on the Body

E105 is banned for use in food products in the USA and most European countries due to its proven toxic effects on the body.
Benefits
Due to its synthetic origin, E105 is not naturally found in living organisms. Currently, there is no scientific data supporting the benefits of E105 dye.
Uses
Despite its low cost, E105 continues to be used in the food industry in some countries, particularly in Eastern countries (China, Thailand, India). It is commonly used for coloring confectionery and some beverages.
E105 can also be used for dyeing natural fibers (wool, cotton, silk) as well as synthetic materials (polyesters, acrylic fibers). Additionally, this azo dye is used in the production of paints and plastics.

E105 is banned for use in the food industry in Russia and Ukraine.
